Cookout 400 at Martinsville

Hello, race fans!  It's time for the Cookout 400 at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Virginia! Our lineups cashed again last week, so let's make more money this week!  The weather looks clear, with temps in the low 60s. The race is slated to begin at 3:00 pm Eastern. This race will offer varying strategies and drivers who may not have winning cars may opt to try to win stage points. Start your engines!

I'll be playing in Draft Kings this week. If you're new to the NASCAR DFS world, here's a quick summary of how scoring is done:

Look for a mix of drivers that fit the following:

Starting up front can potentially lead to lots of laps.

Good drivers starting farther back can pass many cars and finish with a strong differential.

Drivers starting up front I like:
Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott

Drivers with great differential potential and could lead laps:
Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin

Drivers with great differential points and possible top finishes:
Ryan Preece, Noah Gragson

Most likely to be chalk plays:
Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin

This week is different in the fact that we want to try and chase high dominator scores because it's so hard to pass here.

Race Winner  Kyle Larson
Best Bet for a solid finish Bubba Wallace, Chase Elliott
Dark Horse Differentiators Michael McDowell, Todd Gilliland

It's going to be hard to beat the chalk of Christopher Bell today, but this is a track where dominator points could outpace place differential. I like Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott to lead a lot of laps and finish close to their starting positions.

NASCAR Fantasy Live:

The revamped Fantasy Live game run by is a free game to win prizes and test your skills at picking drivers with limited starts. Each driver has ten allocations, a garage slot you can swap with mid-race, and the ability to choose drivers in head-to-head match-ups for bonus points.

I'm looking to save a few starts this week. Here's who I have in my NASCAR Fantasy Live Pool this week:

One-and-done Games:

Earlier this year, I wrote about different strategies in "one-and-done" leagues.  This season, I'll lay out some names that fit each strategy throughout the season.  The order I show them is the order I would play them this week.

"Parachute Theory" or "Studs early and often:" Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr.

"Steady Hand Theory" Mix of Studs and Mid-pack drivers: Ryan Preece, Todd Gilliland Josh Berry

"Late Bloomer Strategy" No Studs Early and often: Harrison Burton, Kaz Grala
