Cookout 400 at Richmond

Good morning, race fans!  It's time for the Cookout 400 at Richmond Raceway in Virginia!  It's going to be a hot 85 degrees with no chance of rain when the green flag drops. We did see a single practice session, and tire wear was the subject of the day.  Richmond can get some long runs so long run speed is key as well as track position.

At the time of this article, AJ Allmandinger is reported to start at the rear after Kraus qualified his car. The weather today will be in the Mid 80s with sunshine and a 5% chance of rain for a 3:00pm start.  Start your engines!

NASCAR DFS

I'll be playing in Draft Kings this week. If you're new to the NASCAR DFS world, here's a quick summary of how scoring is done:

Look for a mix of drivers that fit the following:

Starting up front and can potentially lead lots of laps.

Good drivers starting farther back can pass many cars and finish with a strong differential.

Drivers starting up front I like for dominator points:
Martin Truex, Jr, Kyle Larson

Drivers with great differential potential and could lead laps:
Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick

Drivers with great differential points, and possible top finishes:
Christopher Bell, Todd Gilliland

Most likely to be chalk plays:
Martin Truex, Jr.,  Christopher Bell

It will be very tough to beat the chalk of Christopher Bell and Martin Truex, Jr this week, but the notable starting position of Todd Gilliland and Harrison Burton can help go against the grain and save some salary, as short, flat tracks are their better tracks on the circuit.

Race Winner  Martin Truex, Jr.
Best Bet for a solid finish Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick
Dark Horse Differentiators Todd Gilliland, Michael McDowell

My DFS Line-up Today:

Contrarian Play

 Chalk Play

Other Picks and props:

Fanduel William Byron +900 Outright, Ty Gibbs +3500 Outright

Bet MGM Christopher Bell +1100 outright

One-and-done Games:

Last week Kevin Harvick showed very well with a 4th-place finish.  This week we are pushing harder to climb the standings and we'll use Christopher Bell this week.  Other drivers that could show well are Kevin Harvick and Tyler Reddick.  Denny Hamlin is a good choice if you're way behind.

If you are interested in playing any of these games, sign up before the green flag drops at 12:00 pm EST Monday at the links below:
