Fantasy Baseball Scouting 7.29.20

It's the second turn in the rotation for a lot of the #1s - Cole, Morton, deGrom, Gray, Cueto, Scherzer, Giolito, Hendricks, Woodruff and so on, so we need the head to head data to navigate our way through what could be a dominant pitching day.

Quality Starts:

Remember, a lot of #1s so not a lot of bargains but there are some that could get jumped: Hendricks, Giolito, Scherzer, so let's look at who are the safest bets:

Sonny Gray vs Cubs - in 18 starts at Great American Ballpark he's 9-4 with a 2.90/1.03 ERA/WHIP combo.  Additionally he's got some favorable match-ups against Heyward 1/16, Bryant 2/15, Baez 1/10, Contreras 1/8 and Rizzo 0/7.

Jacob deGrom vs Red Sox - no surprise here, 2.19/0.98 combo at home.  Historical head to head match-ups all favor deGrom.

Gerrit Cole vs Orioles - of course right?...no chance for him to get jumped.  Nobody in the O's line-up has done enough or seen him enough to have a good history against him.

Johnny Cueto vs Padres - Pitches well at home, 15-10 3.54/1.28 combo.  He hasn't faced Tatis yet, but the heart of that lineup hasn't done much - Machado 2/9, Hosmer 2/6, Myers 3/22.

Nate Pearson vs Nationals - No H2H data of course but the Nats aren't hitting right now.  They miss Soto and Rendon and it shows. First 2 games vs the Jays they've only managed one run in each game.
