Fighting Chance Fantasy Mock Draft #7

On Tuesday August 22nd, eleven of the best in the fantasy football industry joined us at Fighting Chance Fantasy for our final mock draft of this fantasy football season. The response of those who wanted to participate was so strong that Ryan and Steve decided not to draft so that we could allow other great minds to be a part of this. Patrick Wisniewski remained our sole representative. The draft was fast, fun, and as always brought a lot of camaraderie in the chat room. Unfortunately, the draft was done before a few major injuries that happened this past weekend, but you will still get a full taste of where players are going as we head into the last week before the season starts. Allow me to introduce the competitiors, where they write, and their Twitter handles. If you are on Twitter and you are not following these folks you are doing yourself a disservice and you should follow them NOW! Here are the participants and the picks.

Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung)
Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina)
Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney)
Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@FantasySixPack)
Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL)
Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl)
Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels)
Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome)
Allie Fontana, Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana)
Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz)

Round 1

Round/Pick Team Player
1.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
1.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Le'Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
1.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Antonio Brown, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
1.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons
1.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Odell Beckham Jr, WR, New York Giants
1.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
1.7 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Jordy Nelson, WR, Green Bay Packers
1.8 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams
1.9 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills
1.10 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
1.11 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Devonta Freeman, RB, Atlanta Falcons
1.12 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

As usual, the first round doesn't come with a lot of surprises. We had the usual Johnson/Bell/Brown to lead things off. The one that stands out for you is Lawr Michaels taking Todd Gurley with the eighth pick. I am on the Gurley bandwagon, and Lawr is on the Gurley bandwagon. This is the highest that he has gone in any of our drafts, but the lesson here kids is that if you believe in a player, ADP be damned! To a certain extent of course. I applaud Lawr for the pick as clearly he believed that his guy wasn't going to make it back to him in the second round. LeSean McCoy lasting until the ninth overall pick is fairly late for him as well, a good bargain for Mike Harmon.

Round 2

Round/Pick Team Player
2.1 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints
2.2 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Jordan Howard, RB, Chicago Bears
2.3 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Jay Ajayi, RB, Miami Dolphins
2.4 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Brandin Cooks, WR, New England
2.5 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Amari Cooper, WR, Oakland Raiders
2.6 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Isaiah Crowell, RB, Cleveland Browns
2.7 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas Cowboys
2.8 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) T.Y. Hilton, WR, Indianapolis Colts
2.9 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Demarco Murray, RB, Tennessee Titans
2.10 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos
2.11 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle Seahawks
2.12 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Round 2 starts out with two guys I absolutely love and would take in the late first round in Michael Thomas and Jordan Howard. Both are in line for monster seasons and Jim Day and Bob Harris got major scores. All in all this round was pretty by the books and I can't say any stand out as "mistake picks" or even anything that questionable. The intrigue of this round comes in the form of Ezekiel Elliott. Bob Lung takes him at the last pick of Round 2. I'm not sure if he thinks his suspension will be reduced, thinks he can make up for the loss of Elliott for seven weeks elsewhere in the draft, or it was just a "hey, it's just a mock" pick, but Elliott goes 2.12. Considering Bob only takes two more running backs the rest of the way, and neither are starters, I assume this was just a "hey, it's a mock draft" kind of pick.

Round 3

Round/Pick Team Player
3.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
3.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers
3.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Terrelle Pryor, WR, Washington Redskins
3.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
3.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Jarvis Landry, WR, Miami Dolphins
3.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Alshon Jeffery, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
3.7 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints
3.8 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots
3.9 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Lamar Miller, RB, Houston Texans
3.10 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Dalvin Cook, RB, Minnesota Vikings
3.11 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots
3.12 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Marshawn Lynch, RB, Oakland Raiders

Bob Lung starts the third round with Aaron Rodgers. That isn't the earliest that he has gone in any of our drafts, but it is close. As you all know I am not against taking one of the three elite quarterbacks in the third or fourth round, so I have no issue here. Drew Brees also went later in the round to Rachel Wold, which is also fine. This draft was done before the season ending injury to Julian Edelman, so cut Lawr Michaels some slack. Bob Harris took Rob Gronkowski in the second to last pick of the third round. This has to be the latest he has gone in our mocks, and even with Gronk's injury history this is great value. He has the chance to be hands down the best at the position if he stays healthy so I like this pick. Allie Fontana taking Dalvin Cook with pick 3.10 makes me very happy. Cook is looking every bit the part of an every down back, and to get a young stud with the 35th pick is awesome. Joe Gallina takes Christian McCaffery early in the third which I like, and Jim Day ends the round with Marshawn Lynch, who I think will rush for 1,000 yards and have double digit touchdowns.

Round 4

Round/Pick Team Player
4.1 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Leonard Fournette, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
4.2 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans
4.3 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Golden Tate, WR, Detroit Lions
4.4 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
4.5 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco 49ers
4.6 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Spencer Ware, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
4.7 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Carolina Panthers
4.8 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Ty Montgomery, RB, Green Bay Packers
4.9 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots
4.10 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
4.11 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Michael Crabtree, WR, Oakland Raiders
4.12 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Obviously this draft was done before the injury to Spencer Ware, so give Rachel Wold a pass on that pick, it was a good one when we had the draft. Based on our other drafts this seems to be pretty late for Travis Kelce as he went at 4.04 to Mike Harmon. After being way down the running back rankings for much of the preseason, Carlos Hyde has taken a sudden turn up the rankings with a vote of confidence from the coach and a good preseason. Joe Bond went with Tom Brady in this fourth round, which is a solid pick at this point. I am a proponent of taking one of the top three quarterbacks, and with the other two gone, taking Brady at 4.09 is a reasonable place to take him. Finally, Joe Mixon went with the next pick. I am in the minority in thinking he will not live up to this draft status, but I certainly could be wrong.

Round 5

Round/Pick Team Player
5.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Arizona Cardinals
5.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Stefon Diggs, WR, Minnesota Vikings
5.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Mark Ingram, RB, New Orleans Saints
5.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers
5.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Jordan Reed, TE, Washington Redskins
5.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Allen Robinson, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
5.7 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Denver Broncos
5.8 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Cameron Meredith, WR, Chicago Bears
5.9 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Tevin Coleman, RB, Atlanta Falcons
5.10 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Danny Woodhead, RB, Baltimore Ravens
5.11 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) C.J. Anderson, RB, Denver Broncos
5.12 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Ameer Abdullah, RB, Detroit Lions

The running backs in the fifth round were mostly PPR type backs, but I did also like the selection of C.J. Anderson by Bob Harris. With the quarterback struggles in Jacksonville we have watched Allen Robinson go from a second round pick to a fourth round pick. Despite the poor quarterback play, I still think Robinson is worth a third round pick, so getting him in Round 4 is great. Emmanuel Sanders is a very solid fifth round pick in PPR leagues to Rachel Wold, and I also really like Davante Adams to Joe Bond, and Stefon Diggs to Joe Gallina.

Round 6

Round/Pick Team Player
6.1 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Brandon Marshall, WR, New York Giants
6.2 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Martavis Bryant, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
6.3 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Jamison Crowder, WR, Washington Redskins
6.4 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons
6.5 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Pierre Garcon, WR, Washington Redskins
6.6 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Greg Olsen, TE, Carolina Panthers
6.7 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Paul Perkins, RB, New York Giants
6.8 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Sammy Watkins, WR, Los Angeles Rams
6.9 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Willie Snead, WR, New Orleans Saints
6.10 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Bilal Powell, RB, New York Jets
6.11 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Jimmy Graham, TE, Seattle Seahawks
6.12 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins

Eight receivers were taken among the twelve picks in Round 6. My favorites are Brandon Marshall to Jim Day, and Pierre Garcon to Lawr Michaels. Despite Beckham, Marshall is still going to get a lot of targets, and when he has been on winning teams, Marshall has been a beast. Garcon isn't going to be on a winning team, but he is going to be the top receiver in San Francisco, and I don't think it will even be close. I expect a ton of targets for Garcon this year and even if he doesn't score a lot he will have strong PPR value. Jamison Crowder to Allie Fontana was a good, safe pick, as was Willie Snead to Joe Bond later in the round. The wild card of the round is DeVante Parker to Bob Lung. Parker could have a huge breakout season, or he could still be just under the cusp of exploding. Bob Lung either got an amazing pick, or a mid round disappointment. We will find out soon enough.

Round 7

Round/Pick Team Player
7.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Kyle Rudolph, TE, Minnesota Vikings
7.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Theo Riddick, RB, Detroit Lions
7.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Mike Gillislee, RB, New England Patriots
7.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts
7.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks
7.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Zach Ertz, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
7.7 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Eric Decker, WR, Tennessee Titans
7.8 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) C.J. Prosise, RB, Seattle Seahawks
7.9 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) DeSean Jackson, WR, Washington Redskins
7.10 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
7.11 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Terrence West, RB, Baltimore Ravens
7.12 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Donte Moncrief, WR, Indianapolis Colts

You can tell that Allie Fontana had high hopes for Kareem Hunt even before the injury to Spencer Ware as she selected Hunt in the seventh round. She now looks like a complete genius with the Ware injury to get Hunt so late. Bravo! There's a lot of talk of Rex Burkhead eating into the role of Mike Gillislee in New England which I am not buying, and I still like the Gill pick here by Tim Heaney. Joe Gallina got Theo Riddick with the second pick in the round as a running back who could have 70 catches. I also like Riddick to carry the ball more this year as I am not an Ameer Abdullah believer. With the suspect offensive line, I am still not a Russell Wilson believer, and with the loss of another starting lineman he worries me more. I was a big fan of Patrick Wisniewski grabbing Zach Ertz here, as well as Rachel Wold getting Eric Decker and Mike Harmon's selection of DeSean Jackson as guys who should definitely live up to this draft status. You also might find it weird that Joe Bond took Andrew Luck in the seventh round after taking Tom Brady in the fourth. Joe confessed to us in the draft chat that he was momentarily distracted talking to his wife and ended up autodrafting that pick. Moral of the story kids? Stay away from the wife while drafting! Only bad things can happen!

Round 8

Round/Pick Team Player
8.1 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers
8.2 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Tyrell Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
8.3 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Duke Johnson, RB, Cleveland Browns
8.4 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Jeremy Maclin, WR, Baltimore Ravens
8.5 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Tyler Eifert, TE, Cincinnati Bengals
8.6 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Frank Gore, RB, Indianapolis Colts
8.7 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Jordan Matthews, WR, Buffalo Bills
8.8 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) LeGarrette Blount, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
8.9 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8.10 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Hunter Henry, TE, Los Angeles Chargers
8.11 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Derek Carr, QB, Oakland Raiders
8.12 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) James White, RB, New England Patriots

Round 8 has one of my favorite picks in Tyrell Williams. I know he is dealing with a slight injury, but he will be fine for Week 1 and I am expecting big things. Duke Johnson gives Allie Fontana a great pass catching running back as insurance on her roster. I love Tyler Eifert to Lawr Michaels if he can just stay healthy Lawr will have a major steal. I think Paul Maland had a strong pick in LeGarrette Blount as a guy who is going to score a lot of touchdowns as I think Wendell Smallwood is just not talented enough to take major carries away from Blount. Hunter Henry was a great tight end at this point to Tim Heaney, and Joe Gallina got my favorite second tier quarterback to target in Derek Carr. Don't steal my man from me Joe!

Round 9

Round/Pick Team Player
9.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers
9.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Rishard Matthews, WR, Tennessee Titans
9.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins
9.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Adam Theilen, WR, Minnesota Vikings
9.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Eddie Lacy, RB, Seattle Seahawks
9.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9.7 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Kenny Stills, WR, Miami Dolphins
9.8 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Philip Rivers, QB, Los Angeles Chargers
9.9 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Josh Doctson, WR, Washington Redskins
9.10 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans
9.11 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Kenny Britt, WR, Cleveland Browns
9.12 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Delanie Walker, TE, Tennesee Titans

Four quarterbacks were taken in Round 9, and I think they were all great value. Lawr Michaels with Philip Rivers and Patrick Wisniewski with Jameis Winston were my two favorites. However, Marcus Mariota to Allie Fontana and Kirk Cousins to Tim Heaney were also good picks. The picks of Rishard Matthews by Joe Gallina, and Adam Theilen to Joe Bond were great picks in a PPR league this late. Matthews has to deal with the arrival of Eric Decker among others in Tennessee, but he's proven to be a great possession receiver. Theilen seems to be a popular choice among many, although sometimes I worry if there are enough targets in Minnesota to warrant two of their receivers in the first nine rounds.

Round 10

Round/Pick Team Player
10.1 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
10.2 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets
10.3 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) John Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals
10.4 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Cole Beasley, WR, Dallas Cowboys
10.5 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Martellus Bennett, TE, Green Bay Packers
10.6 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Adrian Peterson, RB, New Orleans Saints
10.7 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle Seahawks
10.8 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Darren McFadden, RB, Dallas Cowboys
10.9 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Robert Kelley, RB, Washington Redskins
10.10 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Zay Jones, WR, Buffalo Bills
10.11 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Kenny Golladay, WR, Detroit Lions
10.12 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Marvin Jones, WR, Detroit Lions

Surprisingly I like a lot of picks in Round 10. I like Jim Day leading with Jacquizz Rodgers with his three starts to begin the year with Doug Martin suspended. I'd love to see Quizz take off. Bob Harris took Robby Anderson for the Jets who is the number one receiver on the squad. He was pretty good with a shitbag like Bryce Petty under center. No one likes Josh McCown, but at least he is a pro. Anderson should be pretty decent and worth a tenth round pick. I do believe in Martellus Bennett in Green Bay. If Aaron Rodgers could make Jared Cook fantasy relevant down the stretch he should be able to do more with Bennett. Paul Maland takes Darren McFadden as the hopeful workhorse in Dallas with Elliott suspended, but I also think Alfred Morris will be very involved. Joe Bond got a guy I think could be a starting running back all year in Rob Kelley in the tenth. He will have rookie Samaje Perine breathing down his neck, but I still like Fat Rob. Finally, Zay Jones in the tenth round is absolute robbery by Tim Heaney. With Jordan Matthews always hurt and Sammy Watkins in La La Land, this rookie could have an immediate impact.

Round 11

Round/Pick Team Player
11.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Alvin Kamara, WR, New Orleans Saints
11.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) J.J. Nelson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
11.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
11.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Eric Ebron, TE, Detroit Lions
11.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Mike Wallace, WR, Baltimore Ravens
11.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Marlon Mack, RB,Indianapolis Colts
11.7 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Corey Davis, WR, Tennessee Titans
11.8 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers
11.9 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers
11.10 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts
11.11 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
11.12 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Dion Lewis, RB, New England Patriots

It seems that every round has the one boring round. Everyone picks just someone they feel like they should, someone they are taking a blind flyer on, or maybe a logical handcuff. Outside of Ben Roethelisberger to Mike Harmon and maybe Jack Doyle to Allie Fontana, none of these picks really "move the needle" for me. Let's just move to Round 12.

Round 12

Round/Pick Team Player
12.1 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Corey Coleman, WR, Cleveland Browns
12.2 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Matt Forte, RB, New York Jets
12.3 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams
12.4 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Allen Hurns, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
12.5 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Tyrod Taylor, QB, Buffalo Bills
12.6 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Samaje Perine, RB, Washington Redskins
12.7 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Jamaal Williams, RB, Green Bay Packers
12.8 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions
12.9 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Jeremy Hill, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
12.10 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks
12.11 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) DeAngelo Williams, RB, Denver Broncos
12.12 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

Round 12 was a bit more exciting and at least had some players that make me want to write. Despite reports that Matt Forte is "on the block" I don't see the Jets being able to trade him. With the lack of any really no doubt production from anyone, the Jets will need to count on someone to produce. Forte is their lone veteran. Do I think he will be great? No. But do I think he will have PPR value? In the 12th round? Yes. Allie Fontana's pick of Cooper Kupp is probably my favorite of the round and one that could have an early season payoff. Rachel Wold went with the earlier mentioned Samaje Perine as someone who could take over a starting running back job before too long. In the 12th round there's no risk to this, only reward. Patrick Wisniewski had a similar pick with Jamaal Williams. Are we all 100% sure that Ty Montgomery will be good all year at running back? I don't think we can definitively say that so Williams is a solid pick. Finally, Joe Bond takes the guy that I think will hold on to the starting running back job in Cincinnati longer than people think and that is Jeremy Hill. He has proven throughout his career he can score touchdowns and chicks dig touchdowns.

Round 13

Round/Pick Team Player
13.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Ted Ginn, WR, New Orleans Saints
13.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Wendell Smallwood, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
13.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) DeAndre Washington, RB, Oakland Raiders
13.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Sterling Shepard, WR, New York Giants
13.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Coby Fleener, TE, New Orleans Saints
13.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins
13.7 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona Cardinals
13.8 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Breshad Perriman, WR, Baltimore Ravens
13.9 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Cameron Brate, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
13.10 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots
13.11 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
13.12 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Kevin White, WR, Chicago Bears

Round 13 starts with one of my wide receiver sleepers in Ted Ginn. If the guy could just have reliable hands in an offense with Drew Brees at the helm, Ginn is a legitimate threat for ten touchdowns. I don't have to tell you that in Round 13 that is a steal. I like Joe Bond's pick of Sterling Shepard. I do worry a little that Brandon Marshall is going to hurt his fantasy value, but Shepard had a great rookie year, and should continue to have a solid rapport with Eli Manning. I love the possible upside of Coby Fleener in New Orleans. He had a very subpar year in 2016, but he has to be better than that right? Paul Maland certainly agrees. Allie Fontana goes with Rex Burkhead who is not only threatening to take carries away from Mike Gillislee, but he could also see more targets out of the backfield with Julian Edelman out for the year. This looks like a great pick. I am a big fan of Carson Wentz as my backup quarterback like Bob Harris picked him. And finally, this was before the injury to Cameron Meredith, but Jim Day's pick of Kevin White now looks better. There isn't a lot of talent in the Bears' receiving corps and White is a former top ten pick who Chicago will look to in order to be able to pass.

Round 14

Round/Pick Team Player
14.1 Jim Day, Fantasy Taz (@fantasytaz) Devin Funchess, WR, Carolina Panthers
14.2 Bob Harris, Football Diehards (@footballdiehard) Darren Sproles, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
14.3 Allie Fontana, The Fantasy Fix (@alliefontana) Austin Hooper, TE, Atlanta Falcons
14.4 Mike Harmon, SwollenDome.com (@swollendome) Latavius Murray, RB, Minnesota Vikings
14.5 Lawr Michaels, Mastersball (@lawrmichaels) Taylor Gabriel, WR, Atlanta Falcons
14.6 Rachel Wold, Sportsnaut (@liveocgirl) Mohamed Sanu, WR, Atlanta Falcons
14.7 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Arizona Cardinals D/ST
14.8 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Dwayne Allen, TE, New England Patriots
14.9 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Denver Broncos D/ST
14.10 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Houston Texans D/ST
14.11 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) Evan Engram, TE, New York Giants
14.12 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Victor Cruz, WR, Chicago Bears

Without kickers, the final two rounds aren't all kickers and defenses, but they are all defenses. No one went earlier than Round 14 on their defense. I continue to like the New York Giants and the New England Patriots if you don't get one of the top defenses like Houston, Minnesota, Denver, or Kansas City. The late round picks are highlighted by Evan Engram the rookie tight end of the Giants. I know rookie tight ends don't tend to succeed but he is in a perfect situation. Marqise Lee in Jacksonville gets an added boost with Allen Hurns traded out of town, and a solid pick by Tim Heaney. The last pick I like in these rounds is Robert Woods to Patrick Wisniewski. I think that Jared Goff will be better (how could he not be), and this offense will be respectable by the end of the year.

Round 15

Round/Pick Team Player
15.1 Bob Lung, Big Guy Fantasy Sports (@bob_lung) Seattle Seahawks D/ST
15.2 Joe Gallina, RotoExperts (@joegallina) New York Giants D/ST
15.3 Tim Heaney, Rotowire (@tim_heaney) Marqise Lee, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
15.4 Joe Bond, Fantasy Six Pack (@fantasysixpack) Jaron Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals
15.5 Paul Maland, Gridiron Experts (@PaulMalandNFL) Kansas City Chiefs D/ST
15.6 Patrick Wisniewski, Fighting Chance Fantasy (@polkapat) Robert Woods, WR, Buffalo Bills
