Five Game Parlay: Week 15

We are down to the last three weeks of the year and it is still anyone’s game. Everyone is over .500 and unless Gary has another huge week we will go to the final two weeks with the whole competition up for grabs. Here are the picks and the standings.

Gary 42-28 (4-1)
Steve 38-32 (4-1)
Ryan 37-32-1 (2-3)
Drake 37-33 (3-2)
Joe 35-33-2 (3-1-1)

Gary’s Picks

Tennessee Titans -3 over Houston Texans. I can’t believe I am actually picking this, but Tannehill and Henry’s Titans are just too damn good right now. With the division on the line, I am going with the home team and the team with momentum. After a roller coaster two weeks for the Texans destroying the Patriots then getting destroyed by the Broncos, I see no reason to trust them. While the Titans have been kicking ass and taking names.

Green Bay Packers -5 over Chicago Bears. This line is more about the Packers needing to reestablish themselves in the NFL than anything else. They need this win to regain credibility that was stripped from them by first the Chargers and then the 49ers. I am probably most nervous about this pick of my five, but I am not sure I believe in Trubisky to sustain his elevated quarterback play. In the Aarons I trust to pass, run, and catch their way to a touchdown victory.

New York Giants -3.5 over Miami Dolphins. Eli Manning is about to play his final game (or final game at the very least) and has a strong supporting cast against a terrible Miami Dolphins team. That Dolphins team will be able to put up points, and I am going to say it, this game is going to be a true boat race, shoot out, last one to score wins type of team. As long as DeVante Parker plays for the Dolphins then this game will be a blast to watch. Two aged gunslingers not giving a shit with two defenses that give even less shits. To the home team goes the spoils.

Dallas Cowboys +1 over Los Angeles Rams. Another hard game to pick but the Cowboys are fighting for their playoff lives and are at home. The Rams are fighting to regain some post Superbowl respect that faded throughout the season. Dak at home is a much better quarterback, and while I know Ramsey and Cooper will be a battle to watch, there are enough weapons in Dallas to put up points. Also, the Dallas Dline should be able to get to Goff and Goff is terrible under pressure.

Minnesota Vikings -2.5 over Los Angeles Chargers. My one road pick is because I believe that much in Dalvin Cook. I think he can take games over, and with Thielen back in the line up it’ll be impossible to stack the box. Kirk Cousins is secretly a fantasy darling of mine, especially heading into 2020, and I think he will have a much better game than the usual QBs that the Chargers have recently faced recently. I do expect a close game, but not less than 3 points close.

Steve’s Picks

Green Bay Packers -5 over Chicago Bears. Mitchell Trubisky has been playing great as of late, but I’m not going to bet against Aaron Rodgers in December.

Tennessee Titans -3 over Houston Texans. This comes down to the run game of the Titans for me. I love what Ryan Tannehill and Deshaun Watson bring to the table, but I think Derrick Henry will be the key to the Titans winning this one in a tough, and important, AFC South matchup.

Miami Dolphins +3.5 over New York Giants. I just think that right now the Dolphins are a better team than the Giants, and when you throw in the fact that Fitzpatrick used to play for the Jets and knows how to handle playing in New York in December, I think the Dolphins will pull off the minor upset and win outright.

Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5 over Buffalo Bills. I think the Bills will be a popular pick this week, but with James Conner coming back and the Steelers playing at home, I think their tough defense can put pressure on, and force some Josh Allen turnovers and run away with the win.

Jacksonville Jaguars +7 over Oakland Raiders. The Raiders best offense player Josh Jacobs is banged up and while he may play, it doesn’t appear he will be at 100%. I think the Raiders will win this one, but it will be closer than the seven-point spread.

Ryan’s Picks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -3.5 over Detroit Lions. David Blough stinks, Marvin Jones is done for the year, and the defense has been atrocious all season long. Tampa might not be a great team, but they are finishing strong. Hopefully Jameis Winston can gut it through this game, and it is hard to figure how Tampa is favored on the road, but that’s how bad Detroit is. Tampa should win this one easily.

Philadelphia Eagles -4.5 over Washington Redskins.  Dwayne Haskins is awful, and the Redskins are only good at one thing, which is running the ball. The good thing for the Eagles is the one thing they are good at is stopping the run. Philadelphia is decimated by injuries on offense, but Zach Ertz and Miles Sanders should do enough to win this one by a touchdown.

Houston Texans +3 over Tennessee Titans. Ryan Tannehill has had the best season of his career, and goes into Week 15 with a chance to take the lead in the AFC South. However, I just have more faith in Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins that they will do enough to win this game, even on the road. The Texans team is just a little more reliable and I think they win it outright.

Buffalo Bills +2.5 over Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams have great defenses, and neither one is great on offense. However, I have more faith in Josh Allen than I do in Devlin Hodges, so give me the Bills with points with the better defense and the better quarterback.

San Francisco 49ers -10.5 over Atlanta Falcons. Yeah, sure this is a homer pick. The Niners are my team. But Matt Ryan is a stationary quarterback, which the 49ers pass rush should feast on. Without Calvin Ridley, the defense should be able to focus on Julio Jones and the Falcons defense won’t be able to stop their former offensive coordinator in Kyle Shanahan. The Niners should roll in this one.

Drake’s Picks

New England Patriots -9.5 over Cincinnati Bengals. I'm a huge Brady fan.  He's looked awful that past few weeks vs some elite competition.  This week, that won't be the case.  With or without the illegally recorded game film Tommy Boy is going to light the Bengals on fire.  This is a pissed off Pats team who needs to get right before the playoffs.

Seattle Seahawks -6 over Carolina Panthers. While Russell Wilson isn't playing to his usual level I see a get right game vs a brutal Panthers team.  New coach, bad QB, it's all lining up for the Seahawks to drop the hammer on a defeated Panthers club.

Los Angeles Rams -1 over Dallas Cowboys. As an Eagles fan I'm all in on the Rams this week.  Dallas looks like a team that has quit.  They know their coach is a deadman walking and the aren't making a Super Bowl run.  The Rams have flipped a switch and all of a sudden look like last years Super Bowl squad.

Cleveland Browns -2.5 over Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals suck.

Miami Dolphins +3.5 over New York Giants. This Miami team plays hard.  I've called for them to win a few times this year.  In this battle of tanking teams I think the Dolphins can do just enough to get past Eli and friends.  I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have to watch this crapfest.

Joe’s Picks

Seattle Seahawks - 6 over Carolina Panthers. The Seahawks are coming off of a loss and need this game. The Panthers seem to have pretty much given up on the season. A lot has been made about the Seahawks’ 12th man and the advantage they get from playing at home. However, they are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six road games. Seahawks RBs should have a field day against a Panthers D that gives up 5.3 YPC. Seahawks 31, CMC 14. Seattle covers.

Oakland Raiders – 7 over Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags are 0-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games and 0-6 ATS in their last six games played on the West Coast. The Jags are another team that can’t stop the run, giving up an average of 141 rushing yards per game. As long as Josh Jacobs’ fractured shoulder holds up he should have a huge day. Let’s not forget that this will be the Raiders’ last ever home game in Oakland, a fact that motivate them even more in Week 15. They easily cover the spread.

New England Patriots – 9.5 over Cincinnati Bengals. The Patriots have lost two straight and are still trying to win enough games to ensure that at least one playoff game is played on their home turf. They also have film showing exactly what the Bengals strategy will be in Week 15. The Bengals will make it interesting and keep it close for a quarter, and then the Pats will pull away. Patriots 27, Bengals 13. The Pats cover.

Denver Broncos + 9.5 over Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs will win, but they are coming off of a high intensity, emotionally draining win against the Pats. Drew Lock looks like he can be the Broncos QB of the future. The forecast calls for a cold foggy afternoon. I could see this being a low scoring first half with the action heating up a bit later on. The Broncos can be a feisty team at times. The Chiefs will win but the Broncos cover.

New York Giants – 3.5 over Miami Dolphins. I’ll do it. I know I’ll hate myself on Monday morning, but I’ll still do it. I’ll take the Giants to cover the spread against the Fish. I’m thinking this will be Eli’s last home start of his Giants career. That has to motivate him and the rest of the Giants to bring their C + game (because even I, as a Giants fan know they don’t have an A game) against the Dolphins, no? I mean Eli had a good first half against the Eagles and he should be able to put two good halves up against the Dolphins, no? The Giants cover, and Eli rides into the sunset, triumphant one last time!!
