Season Record: 8-8

Who is ready to bounce back after a tough week 4? That’s the spirit! I can hear the excitement from my office where I write this article.  In all seriousness, last week was a tough one.  Usually when we’re a quarter of the way through the season, you are able to pick up on various trends in the league.  While that hasn’t been the case up to this point, I guess that’s what makes the NFL so exciting.

You know what they say, a minor setback leads to a major comeback. Okay okay, enough with the clichés let’s pick some winners!

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans

Line: Texans -5.5 | Total: 54

Will the Texans be extra motivated after Bill O'Brien was fired? It's unclear in my opinion, but there were already reasons to believe they could handle a Jaguars team whose Week 1 win over the Colts might have been an aberration.  Houston's Bill O'Brien was despised by the end of his tenure, illustrated by the heated exchange with JJ Watt that was part of the impetus for O'Brien's firing. I don't always believe in the "interim kick" but I do here.  Give me the Deshaun Watson and the Texans getting their first win of the season.

Kayvon’s Pick: Texans -5.5

Arizona Cardinals at New York Jets

Line: Cardinals -7 | Total: 49.5

Jets QB Sam Darnold won't play in this game due to a shoulder injury. That means Joe Flacco will get the nod as the starting quarterback against a Cardinals defense that is in desperate need of a get-right game. Offensively, the Cardinals need to get back to the efficient type of ball they were playing earlier in the year. This game will provide the perfect remedy for both sides of the ball for the Cardinals.

Kayvon’s Pick: Cardinals -7

Philadelphia Eagles at Pittsburgh Steelers

Line: Steelers -7 | Total: 44.5

Pittsburgh's defense has been outstanding this season.  They allow a league low 54 rush yards per game, making opposing offenses one dimensional.  The Steelers rank second in the league with 15 sacks and they only have played three games so far this season.  Wentz is not at his best when under pressure this season, he has a passer rating of 28.0 when pressured, according to ESPN stats and info. That ranks 37th out of 40 quarterbacks who have attempted at least five passes under pressure.  Remember the Steelers were off last week because of the outbreak within the Titans organization, so they are rested and ready to go.

Kayvon’s Pick: Steelers -7
