NFL Survivor Pool: Week 10

Just like the great Gloria Gaynor once said “I Will Survive”. That’s what we’re all trying to do in Survivor Pools this year. Good lord what a massacre Week 9 was for Survivor players. The guillotine dropped and some heads did roll with a few upsets last week. The Bills and Cowboys were heavy favorites and decided to let their Survivor players down by getting beat by the Jaguars and Broncos. Like they say any given Sunday anything can happen.

Who to pick in Week 10

Last week I avoided the urge to go with the Cowboys and went with Chiefs and they barely got by the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers. Seems like every week we’re living on the edge. These are the teams that are no longer options for me: Rams, Packers, Broncos, Bengals, Ravens, Colts, Patriots, Bills, and Chiefs. Let’s see what’s in store for us in Week 10.

NFL Week 10 Schedule

Baltimore at Miami               Ravens -7.5

Atlanta at Dallas                  Cowboys -9

Detroit at Pittsburgh               Steelers -9.5

Tampa Bay at Washington    Buccaneers -8

New Orleans at Tennessee   Titans -3

Jacksonville at Indianapolis  Colts -10

Cleveland at New England   Browns -.5

Buffalo at N.Y. Jets             Bills -13

Carolina at Arizona             Cardinals -10

Minnesota at L.A. Chargers Chargers -2.5

Philadelphia at Denver        Denver -3.0

Seattle at Green Bay          Green Bay -5.5

Kansas City at Las Vegas    Chiefs -2.5

L.A. Rams at San Francisco Rams -4

Bye: Chicago, Cincinnati, N.Y. Giants, Houston

There appear to be several options for us this week that have teams favored by at least eight points and here they are: the Cowboys favored by -9 over the Falcons, the Steelers at home favored by -9.5 over the Lions, the Buccaneers on the road favored by -8 over the Football Team, the Colts at home favored by -10 over the Jaguars, the Bills on the road favored by -13 over the Jets, and the Cardinals at home favored by -10 over the Panthers.

Falcons at Cowboys

The Falcons are coming off an upset of the Saints after starting the season with two straight losses. They have won four of their last six games and are showing some life. The Cowboys just got stunned by the Broncos and are going to try to get right this week. To rebound Dak Prescott has to play like the All-Pro that he is. Cowboys are a solid option if you still have them available.

Lions at Steelers

The Lions are having a perfect season, unfortunately, it’s not the perfect season you want to be having. They are having a perfect losing season, and that should continue with their visit to Pittsburgh. The Steelers have won four straight and after Week 10 it will be five straight. The Steelers will make it five straight this week and are an excellent pick.

Buccaneers at Football Team

The Buccaneers have been one of the better teams in Football this year sitting with a record of 6-2, while the Football Team has been the total opposite and standing with a record of 2-6. Although the Buccaneers will be without Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown again this week, they should still have enough firepower to get past the Football Team who have averaged 11 points over their last three games. The game may be closer than what the oddsmakers think with the Buccaneers being on the road but they are a team to consider this week.

Jaguars at Colts

The one double-digit favored team you should try and avoid if you can is the Colts. Even though they have come alive over the last few games, so have the Jaguars including their shocking 9-6 victory over the Bills last week. Go with the Colts if you dare.

Bills at Jets

The Bills have been one of the upper echelon teams this year but like mentioned they did just lose to the Jaguars at home. Now they head to New York to face-off against one of their divisional rivals the Jets. The Jets have been without their first-round pick Zack Wilson, but the Jets' offense has looked a little better without him in the line-up especially with Mike White under center. The Bills should rebound and win this one but it will be closer than what the line says.

Panthers at Cardinals

The Panthers have lost their starting quarterback Sam Darnold for a few games with a shoulder injury and have lost five of their last six games. The loss of Christian McCaffrey earlier in the season crippled this team and lead them to their under .500 record after starting 4-0. On the other hand, the Cardinals have a 9-1 record but could be without two of their studs Kyler Murray and  DeAndre Hopkins who have been nursing some injuries. This should make Survivor players double-think about picking the Cardinals in Week 10. If you hear the word of Kyler Murray being greenlit to go for this the Cardinals is a no-brainer pick for this week. Monitor Murray’s status before making your decision.

Well now comes decision time for me. With the Steelers' schedule only going to get tougher in the second half of the season, I will be going with Steelers for Week 10.
