NFL Survivor Pool: Week 15

And then there were three. That's all we have left, three games to finish up this crazy NFL regular season. As the ending nears we should be joyful if we're still alive in our respective Survivor pools because if you have not won it by now you should be pretty darn close to being the last person standing. From the favorable matchups of last week, only the Saints faltered and lost to the Eagles behind the offensive spark provided by Jalen Hurts. So let's see what's in store for us in Week 15 and finish strong!

Who to pick for Week 15

Last week I was finally able to have a breather, as my Seahawks pick easily handled the Jets and obliterated them to smithereens 40-3. Here are the teams that are no longer options for me; the Bills, Packers, Colts, Rams, Cowboys, Dolphins, Chargers, Eagles, Chiefs, Saints, Steelers, Browns, Vikings, and Seahawks. Now let's focus and set our sites on Week 15.

NFL Schedule for Week 15

  • Los Angeles Chargers vs. Las Vegas Raiders (-3, 54.5)
  • Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos (+5.5)
  • Carolina Panthers vs. Green Bay Packers (-8.5, 51)
  • Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts (-7, 52.5)
  • Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans (-8.5)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons (+5.5, 51)
  • New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins (-2, 41.5)
  • Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington Football Team (+5, 43.5)
  • Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings (-3, 46)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens (-13)
  • San Francisco 49ers vs. Dallas Cowboys (+2.5, 45.5)
  • New York Jets vs. Los Angeles Rams (-17, 44.5)
  • Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals (-6, 48.5)
  • Kansas City Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints (+3.5, 51.5)
  • Cleveland Browns vs. New York Giants (+3.5)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals (+13)

Looking over this week's slate there are five games that have a team favored by at least (-8.5). These are the games that could be possible options for us this week; the Packers at home favored by (-8.5) over the Panthers, the Titans at home favored by (8.5) over the Lions, the Ravens at home favored by (13) over the Jaguars, the Rams at home favored by (-17) over the Jets, and the Steelers on the road favored by (-13) over the Bengals on Monday Night Football.

The first game to tackle this week is the Packers at home facing the Panthers. The boys from Green Bay are looking to extend their winning streak to four games and have their sights on trying to have home field for the playoffs with their 10-3 record. The Panthers on the other hand have lost seven of their last eight games and have basically played the entire season without All-World running Christian McCaffrey. It does appear that the Panthers will be getting a boost to the offense with D.J. Moore scheduled to return from the COVID-19 reserve list. Regardless the Packers should have their way and are a good option this week for those the have them left.

Next, we have the Titans licking their chops as they have a wounded Lions club coming to town. The Titans are in a fight with divisional foe Colts as they both are on top of the division sitting at 9-4. Derrick Henry and the Titans just ran all over the Jaguars last week and look to do the same in Week 15 against the Lions. The Lions have already been missing their stud receiver, Kenny Golladay, for most of the season with hip and various other injuries. On top of that, now the Lions may be without starting quarterback Matthew Stafford as well with a rib injury and that has caused him to miss practices so far this week. If Stafford is indeed out for this contest the Titans are an excellent pick for this week.

The Ravens are one of three teams that are favored by double-digits this week. The Ravens are fighting for their playoffs lives and are coming off a great win on Monday Night in a thrilling 47-42 shootout win over the Browns, which happen to be one of the teams ahead of them for one of the wild card spots. The Jaguars are in the running for the number one pick overall in next year's NFL draft with their 1-12 record. The Jags are turning back to Gardner Minshew to start at quarterback as they will be throwing him back to the wolves as the Ravens' defense is sure to cause havoc for Minshew Mania. The Ravens are a great option this week for your survivor pools if you still have them available.

The weekly Jets beat down report is up next as the Rams will be rolling out the red carpet in L.A. for another Jets spanking. Honestly, there's not much analysis that needs to be done here as basically any good team versus Jets is usually an easy W. If you have held onto the Rams this long good for you because it's time deploy them as they are a phenomenal option for this week.

Finally, we have the Steelers on Monday Night Football playing the Bengals. The Steelers are a game behind the Chiefs for home-field throughout the playoffs and to have a first-round bye, so the Steelers will be gunning for a win. The Bengals are 2-10-1 on the season and have lost five straight, which includes losing the last three after the loss of Joe Burrow for the season. The Steelers should notch another victory and are a good pick for Week 15, although the primetime road underdogs tend to play inspired ball and this game could be a little closer than what the oddsmakers think.

After evaluating my options for this week, I'm picking the Titans for Week 15.
