Shriner's Children's Hospitals 500 at Phoenix

Hello, race fans!  It's time for the Shriner's Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway! Our lineups just missed last week, so let's make some money this week!  The weather looks clear, with temps in the 70s,  The race is slated to begin at 3:30 pm Eastern. Start your engines!

NASCAR DFS

I'll be playing in Draft Kings this week. If you're new to the NASCAR DFS world, here's a quick summary of how scoring is done:

Look for a mix of drivers that fit the following:

Starting up front can potentially lead to lots of laps led.

Good drivers starting farther back can pass many cars and finish with a strong differential.

Drivers starting up front I like:
Chase Elliott, Tyler Reddick

Drivers with great differential potential and could lead laps:
Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney

Drivers with great differential points and possible top finishes:
Bubba Wallace, Ryan Preece

Most likely to be chalk plays:
Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin

This week is going to get interesting.  I think we see a pit strategy play out and those who can manage tire wear best will be top dogs today. Drivers Like Ryan Blaney and Chase Briscoe have a very good history at Phoenix.

Race Winner  Tyler Reddick
Best Bet for a solid finish Joey Logano, William Byron
Dark Horse Differentiators Ryan Preece, Josh Berry

It's going to be hard to beat the chalk of Ryan Blaney today, but this is a track where those out front tend to stay out front, and dominator points with laps lead and fastest laps are easier out front. I like Ryan Preece and Josh Berry to finish better than their starting position and get you a solid differential score.

NASCAR Fantasy Live:

The revamped Fantasy Live game run by NASCAR.com is a free game to win prizes and test your skills at picking drivers with limited starts. Each driver has 10 allocations, a garage slot you can swap with mid-race, and the ability to choose drivers in head-to-head match-ups for bonus points.

I'm rolling with known entities this week. Carson Hocevar may also be a worth a look. Here's who I have in my NASCAR Fantasy Live Pool this week:

One-and-done Games:

Earlier this year, I wrote about different strategies in "one-and-done" leagues.  This season, I'll lay out some names that fit each strategy throughout the season.  The order I show them is the order I would play them this week.

"Parachute Theory" or "Studs early and often:" Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, William Byron

"Steady Hand Theory" Mix of Studs and Mid-pack drivers: Bubba Wallace, Chase Briscoe, Chris Buescher

"Late Bloomer Strategy" No Studs Early and often: Ryan Preece, Carson Hocevar, Josh Berry
