Survivor Pool: Week 6
What's that I hear playing in the background can't quite make it out, ah yes it's the Bee Gee's classic Staying Alive. That's what we're all trying to do, not only in Survivor but in life in general sometimes. Last week the Broncos at Patriots game was postponed to Week 6 due to an additional positive COVID-19 test on Patriots personnel. Now that game is part of this week's slate. Last week out of the teams that were favored by seven points or higher only the 49ers losing to the Dolphins at home and shockingly the Chiefs losing to the Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium let Survivor players down last week. Let's see what's in store for us this week.
Who to pick for Week 6
I barely survived last week as I picked the Cowboys to win and needed a last-second field goal to save my booty. Phew, huge sigh. The Bills, Packers, Colts, Rams, and Cowboys are no longer options for me. As for this week let's hope we can continue to evade potholes or obstacles that can send us home packing. Time to evaluate our options for Week 6.
NFL odds, matchups for Week 6
Denver Broncos at New England Patriots (-9)
Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers (-2.5, 44.5)
Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars (+3.5, 54.5)
Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings (-3.5, 55.5)
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-5.5)
Washington Football Team at New York Giants (-3, 43)
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5, 51)
Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles (+8, 46.5)
Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts (-8, 46.5)
New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-8, 47.5)
Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2, 54)
Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (+3.5, 50)
Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills (+3)
Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys (+2.5, 54.5)
Looking over the schedule there are four games that have heavy favorites for the week that could be good choices for us. These are our possibilities, the Patriots at home favored by (-9) over the Broncos, the Ravens on the road favored by (-8) over the Eagles, the Colts at home favored by (-8) over the Bengals, and the Dolphins at home favored by (-8) over the Jets. With Cam Newton's expected to return this week to the Patriots line-up, they are an excellent option for those that still have them available. With the Ravens traveling to Philly to face the Eagles, something tells me to stay away from this game especially if Carson Wentz finally gets two of his weapons (DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery) back this week. As for the Colts, they have been really shaky on offense, and even though rookie Joe Burrow and the Bengals ran into a buzz saw last week versus the Ravens I still believe that Burrow will make this game closer than what the line is. Finally, we have the Dolphins at home coming off a great road victory over the 49ers to faces the Jets. These two teams are long-time rivals and might be a close game but if you were ever going to use the Dolphins this would be the time to use them since this will probably be their easiest game on the schedule.
After debating between these four options I'm rolling the dice, and picking the Dolphins for Week 6.
