Player Props: Week 16
It was more of a business as usual type of Week 15 for me after reveling in my perfect Week 14. I hit on three of my five recommendations last week, bringing my season record to 47 wins and 36 losses. Let’s see if I can build on my 57% (it’s actually 56.6 but I rounded up) winning percentage this week. Since it’s Christmas time I’ll share six, (and not just five like I usually do), player prop bets with you that I like this week.
Please remember that gambling is super risky and you should only use funds that you can afford to lose.
Baker Mayfield, QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Over 247.5 passing yards
Mayfield is averaging 278 passing yards per game over the last four weeks and he has a good matchup against a Dallas Cowboys pass defense that has given up the third most passing yards to QBs over the last five weeks.
Mike Evans, WR Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Over 80.5 receiving yards
If I think that Mayfield is going to have a big passing day then Evans is going to be a major beneficiary. He’s averaging just over 103 receiving yards per game in his last four matchups and still has that 11th straight 1000 plus receiving yard season in his sights. Buccaneers TE Cade Otton is out in Week 16 and that should help Evans’ production against the Cowboys as well.
Mike Gesicki, TE Cincinnati Bengals
Over 2.5 receptions
I know he’ll be battling Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins for targets, but Gesicki has at least three receptions in three straight games. He has a good matchup against the Cleveland Browns who have given up the most receptions to TEs (34) over the last five weeks.
James Conner, RB Arizona Cardinals
Over 84.5 rushing yards
If you read this column regularly you know that I like to pick on the Panthers because they can’t stop the run. Conner has been on fire lately and has rushed for over 84.5 yards in two straight games. He has also averaged 5.25 YPC over his last three games.
James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills
Over 63.5 rushing yards
Cook has a good matchup against the New England Patriots who have given up 4.66 YPC to RBs over their past four games. They’ve also given up 96 and 110 rushing yards to primary RBs over the past two weeks, respectively, and at least 86 or more rushing yards to their opponents’ lead back in three of their last four games.
Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE, Tennessee Titans
Over 2.5 receptions
Okonkwo is averaging just under 7 targets per game over the past three weeks and has at least three catches per game during that time span. He faces the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16, and they’ve given up the third most receptions (85) to TEs this season.
