Player Props: Week 18

I can’t believe that this is the last week of the regular season! I’ve had a lot of fun writing this column and I want to thank you for coming along for the ride. I hit on three of my five suggestions last week bringing my season record to 54 wins and 40 losses. With some teams sitting their starters ahead of the NFL playoffs finding player props I liked was pretty tough, but I managed to put together another five for you for Week 18.

Please remember that gambling is super risky and you should only use funds that you can afford to lose.

Michael Carter, RB Arizona Cardinals

Over 58.5 rushing yards

With James Conner on IR, Carter should be the Cardinals’ primary back in Week 18. He has a good matchup against the @fightingchance’s San Francisco 49ers, who’ve had problems stopping the run. The Niners have given up the third most rushing yards (676) to RBs over the past five weeks. Carter has done well in limited action, averaging 4.89 YPC while carrying the ball 18 times over the past two weeks.

Bijan Robinson, RB Atlanta Falcons

Over 97.5 rushing yards

The Carolina Panthers haven’t been able to stop the run all season, so why would that change in Week 18? Robinson will almost certainly play the whole game because his Falcons have a shot to make the playoffs with a win and a Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss. Robinson is averaging just over 100 rushing yards in his last five games.

Bucky Irving, RB Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Over 90.5 rushing yards

Like the Falcons, the Buccaneers’ season is on the line in Week 18. They need a win to make the playoffs so there’s no chance that they’ll be resting their starters. Irving has been on a hot streak lately, averaging 5.85 yards per carry over his last seven games. He should be a big part of the Bucs’ offense since their opponent, the New Orleans Saints, have given up the sixth most rushing yards (1765) to RBs this season.

Joe Flacco, QB Indianapolis Colts

Over 239.5 passing yards

I’m going to ride with Flacco one last time! I’ll remind you once again that Flacco seems to gain superpowers late in the season. Between Weeks 13 and 17 of last season Flacco averaged just over 323 passing yards per game. Last week against the New York Giants he threw for 330 yards. This week he faces a Jacksonville Jaguars team that has given up just over 246 passing yards per game to QBs over the past three weeks. Flacco is just about to turn 40 years old so you never know when he’ll be making his last NFL start. He knows that and I think it might provide a little extra motivation for him to have a big game in Week 18.

De’Von Achane, RB Miami Dolphins

Over 51.5 rushing yards

There’s a slight chance that the Dolphins could make the playoffs with a win against the New York Jets. With that in mind and with QB Tua Tagovailoa unlikely to play, the Dolphins are going to count on Achane to have a big Week 18. The Jets’ run defense has improved as the season has progressed but they’ve given up 108 yards per game to RBs over the past three weeks.
